Your mountain home deserves better than heat tape.

Thermaline is an engineered roof edge panel system — not tape in gutters — that stops ice dams before they form. Rocky Mountain Gutters & Maintenance installs and fabricates all custom metal in-house for Aspen, Snowmass, and the Roaring Fork Valley.

The real cost

What ice dams actually cost a mountain home

Ice dams are not a nuisance problem — they're a structural and financial threat. On a custom mountain home with premium materials, the damage compounds fast.

Interior Water Damage

Ice dam backup forces water under shingles and into your home. Ceiling stains, soaked insulation, and rotted sheathing are common results — repair bills that run $10,000 to $50,000+.

Premium Gutter Destruction

Ice weight tears copper gutters from the fascia. A damaged copper gutter run isn't a $500 repair — it's a full replacement project that can run $15,000 or more on a large mountain home.

Fascia and Soffit Rot

Water trapped behind ice dams seeps into the fascia and soffit. The rot is slow, invisible, and expensive by the time it's discovered.

Insulation Compression and Mold

Wet insulation loses R-value permanently. It also creates the moisture conditions for mold in attic spaces — a remediation project that typically costs more than the original ice dam repair.

Why Thermaline

An engineered solution, not a seasonal band-aid

Heat tape addresses a symptom. Thermaline addresses the cause — by managing the thermal zone at the roof edge where ice dams actually form.

Heat tape in gutters

Keeps a narrow channel open in one gutter run. Doesn't address where the ice dam actually forms — the eave overhang. Wears out in 3–5 years. Requires annual reinstallation. A band-aid.

Thermaline

An engineered roof edge panel system that manages the full thermal zone where ice dams form. Integrated heat cable in a durable metal panel — installed once, maintained by the system itself.

The system

How Thermaline works

Three steps that explain why Thermaline is fundamentally different from anything else on the market.

01

The panel replaces the exposed eave

Thermaline installs at the roof edge — the exact zone where ice dams form. It's a metal panel system, not tape or cable draped over shingles.

02

Integrated heat cable keeps the zone above freezing

The cable runs inside the panel, maintaining just enough heat to keep the drainage path open. Snow melt drains to the gutter instead of refreezing.

03

Water drains, ice dam never forms

With the eave zone managed, there's no refreeze point. No ice dam. No backup under the shingles. No damage.

The install process

What to expect

From first call to first protected winter — here's how it works.

Site Assessment

We evaluate your roof pitch, eave configuration, existing gutters, and snowfall patterns. Not every roof is identical — we customize the approach.

Custom Fabrication

Our in-house metal shop in Glenwood Springs fabricates the Thermaline panels to your exact roof dimensions — copper, brass, or painted steel to match your existing metal.

Professional Installation

Our crew installs the system, runs the heat cable, and integrates with your existing gutter system. Most residential installs complete in one to two days.

Long-Term Protection

Thermaline is designed to last. Once it's in, you're protected — no annual reinstallation, no worn-out tape to replace before winter.

In-house metal fabrication

Custom panels fabricated in our Glenwood Springs shop

Rocky Mountain Gutters & Maintenance fabricates all Thermaline custom metal in-house — panels, flashings, and gutter integration details in copper, brass, or painted steel to match your existing roof and gutters. Same crew, same shop, same day.
