What is Thermaline?
An engineered system — not a band-aid
Thermaline (formerly HotEdge) is a roof edge panel system with integrated heat cable. It replaces the exposed eave with a thermally managed panel that keeps the critical drainage zone above freezing — so snowmelt runs off instead of refreezing into an ice dam.
This is not heat tape stuffed in a gutter. It's an engineered system designed for actual mountain conditions: high elevation, heavy snow loads, and freeze-thaw cycles that happen multiple times per week.
Rocky Mountain Gutters & Maintenance is an authorized Thermaline installer serving Aspen, Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs.
Is Thermaline right for you?
Who needs it
If your roof deals with heavy snow load and a cold eave — whether you're a homeowner, HOA, or resort — Thermaline is worth a conversation.
Steep Mountain Roofs
Custom homes in Aspen and Snowmass with steep pitches shed snow fast — but the eave refreezes first. Thermaline keeps the drainage path open.
Historic Homes with Copper Gutters
Ice dams are brutal on premium materials. A damaged copper gutter isn't a cheap fix. Thermaline protects what's already there.
HOAs & Resorts
Icicle fall creates real liability. Thermaline eliminates the formation source instead of just keeping walkways clear.
Chronic Ice Dam Damage
If you've had ceiling stains, blown insulation, or damaged fascia two winters running, Thermaline is the engineered solution, not another band-aid.

How Thermaline works
Ice dams form when snowmelt refreezes at the eave. Thermaline breaks that cycle by keeping the eave above freezing — so water drains instead of backing up under your roof.
01
Snow melts at the roof surface
Solar gain and attic heat melt snow higher on the roof — the water runs toward the eave.
02
Water reaches the eave
Without Thermaline, that water hits the cold eave overhang and refreezes — forming the ice dam that backs water under shingles.
03
Thermaline keeps the eave warm
The roof edge panel system maintains just enough heat at the eave that water drains into the gutter and downspout instead of refreezing.
In-house metal fabrication
The same crew fabricates your metal
Rocky Mountain Gutters & Maintenance runs its own in-house metal shop in Glenwood Springs. The same crew that installs your Thermaline system fabricates all the custom metal on your roof — flashings, gutters, chimney caps, parapet caps — in copper, brass, zinc, or steel, same day.
